Just checking in really quick with a MO update. Things are moving a;ong well!!! I am waiting on an order of shirts to come in so that I can wrap up the Playdate Line. I have one, maybe two more dresses to finish tomorrow for the Tea Party Line and then a some final descions to make regarding the Sunday Brunch Line. We are set to do photos next Tuesday and then hopefully within the week all will be on the site and Mudcake Originals will be official. Whoo hoo. Which of course means I get a week break and then start working on the Fall 09 Collection. Haha.
Something I have been thinking/praying about as well...giving back. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't hoping to make a little exta money with the clothes thing. Obviously...or I'd be giving clothes away. But more importantly, I was to do something with the money Mudcake Orignals brings in. I have prayed about what I could do. I have looked into different charities and what not; I have even asked Jimmy for his opinion. The only thing I kept coming back to was kids. I wanted to help children. Maybe it's the whole being a mom thing, but I am a little passionate about children and my heart breaks everytime I see a child in danger. I also kinda like me some Jesus. I am rather fond of Him and His plan for my life. So...after some thinking, praying, and researching it all kind of came together in one of those "duh" moments.
COMPASSION.
It's only something I have read about for years now and one of those cool linky-doos on numerous sites. COMPASSION. One word...but so much more. I still don't have all the details on how it will work or what exactly I am going to do early on but I know for sure that through the sales at Mudcake Originals you will sponsoring children (in time hopefully a bunch) in India. Not only providing for them financially but sharing the Living Word with them.
So...the linkydoo is coming along with more imformation and all that jazz, but for now visit the COMPASSION webpage. Learn a little about these sweet children that so desperately need your help. http://www.compassion.com/default.htm
